Kibum hummed. "Did you remember to pick up Suyoung?"
Donghae stiffened his breath hitching. "No, I thought you were going to."
Kibum sighed. "No, remember I told you this morning I was going to be late-- wait, why are we even sitting here, we have to pick up Suyoung!"
Kibum ran down the stairs, nearly falling flat on his face, but then Donghae grabbed him by the arm. "Slow down, we don't need to have you injure yourself."
Kibum rolled his eyes and grabbed Donghae's wrist. "Let's go."
Donghae sprinted right into the day care room nearly tripping over a toy truck; right after Kibum seized his arm back. Donghae sighed. "Thank you."
Kibum shook his head, he knocked on the door before stepping inside, mindful of the toys. "Ms. Jun?" Kibum called. "We came to pick up Suyoung."
A moment later Ms. Jun came out with a sleepy little girl in her arms. "Suyoung, your daddies are here."
There was a yawn, followed by a gurgle of words, which neither of them could make out. She turned her head and beamed. "Daddy!" She reached out with her tiny arms, and pulled on Donghae's sleeve. Donghae wrapped his arms around her and carried her with her chin on Donghae's shoulder. Suyoung caught sight of Kibum and pulled on his hair. "Daddy!" Kibum chuckled.
Sometimes it would be confusing who she would be referring to, considering she called both of her dads, "Daddy." but Kibum didn't mind. Kibum cautiously peeled off her fingers from his hair. "Now, remember what I said about daddy's hair? You wouldn't want me to be bald do you?"
Suyoung nit her eyebrows together. She scrutinized Kibum's head, and then shifted her gaze back to Kibum's face. She smiled with a toothy grin. "You'd look funny!"
They said their goodbyes to Ms. Jun and were on their way.
Donghae buckled in Suyuong's seat belt in her little child car seat.
Kibum started the car. "So what would you two like for dinner?"
Donghae thought for a second. "Burgers!"
Suyoung smiled. "Yeah!"
Kibum frowned. He didn't think it was appropriate for a 4 year old girl to have such indigestible food, not to mention greasy.
"Didn't we have pizza for lunch yesterday?"
Donghae shifted in his seat beside Suyoung. "..No..."
Kibum rolled his eyes. "Yes we did."
Suyoung pouted. "Does that mean we can't have burgers?"
Kibum hummed. "Maybe veggie burgers."
Donghae made a gagging noise, while Suyoung grimaced.
"I bet you two haven't even tried a veggie burger."
"What are veggie burgers?" Suyoung asked.
"An abomination to all that is man-kind."
Kibum sighed. "It's a burger, but without the meat."
Suyoung frowned. "Isn't that like a sandwich? Without the ham or baloney."
Kibum smiled. "I suppose."
Suyoung shrugged. "Okay."
Donghae gaped. "Two against one, no fair."
Kibum sighed, with a hint of a grin. "You get to pick the meal tomorrow."
Donghae crossed his arms on his chest. "Fine."
"I better get laid tonight." Donghae muttered. Kibum still heard it, Donghae knew Kibum still heard it because he was glaring at him in the rear-view mirror, with an expression of revulsion and 'What are you saying with our child only inches away from you?'
Donghae smirked and stuck out his tongue at Kibum. Kibum's scowl transformed into a smirk. He mouthed a 'Whatever.'
Suyoung giggled and clapped her hands together. "Are you two really grown-ups?"
